The Book of Enoch. Chapter 1.

1 These are the words of the blessing of Enoch; according to which he blessed the chosen and righteous who must be present on the day of distress, which is appointed, for the removal of all the wicked and impious.
(Zephaniah 1:14-18), (Matthew 24:21-22), (Matthew 13:30), (Revelation 7:14)

2 And Enoch began his story and said: –
There was a righteous man whose eyes were opened by the Lord, and he saw a Holy vision in the Heavens, which the Angels showed to me. And I heard everything from them, and I understood what I saw: but not for this generation, but for a distant generation that will come.

3 Concerning the Chosen I spoke; and I uttered a parable concerning them: The Holy and Great One will come out of his dwelling.
(Isaiah 35:4), (Ezekiel 34:11-12)

4 And the Eternal God will tread from there upon Mount Sinai, and he will appear with his Host, and will appear in the strength of his power from Heaven.
(Mount Sinai: relationship with Moses and Jerusalem)
(Galatians 4:24-26)

5. And all will be afraid, and the Watchers will shake, and fear and great trembling will seize them, up to the ends of the earth.
(James 2:19), (Isaiah 24:21-22)

6 And the high mountains will be shaken; and the high hills will be laid low and will melt like wax in a flame.
(Jeremiah 4:24), (Micah 1:4)

7 And the earth will sink, and everything that is on the earth will be destroyed, and there will be judgment upon all, and upon all the righteous.
(Zephaniah 1:2-3, 6,18), (Zephaniah 3:8), (2 Peter 3:7,10-12), (Isaiah 13:9), (Isaiah 24:1-23), (Isaiah 28:22)

8 But for the righteous: He will make peace, and He will keep safe the Chosen, and mercy will be upon them. They will all belong to God, and will prosper and be blessed, and the light of God will shine on them.
(Psalm 29:11), (Romans 15:13), (Isaiah 26:3-4, 12), (Ezekiel 34:25)
(Isaiah 41:10), (Isaiah 41:13), (Psalm 121:5), (Psalm 31:20), (John 14:18), (Matthew 28:20)
(Malachi 3:17), (Micah 4:5), (Isaiah 44:5)
(2 Chronicles 9:7), (Psalm 115:15), (Matthew 25:34)
(1 John 1:5), (Revelation 21:23), (Revelation 22:5)

9 And behold! He comes with ten thousand Holy Ones; to execute judgment upon them and to destroy the impious, and to contend with all flesh concerning everything that the sinners and the impious have done and wrought against Him.
(Deuteronomy 33:2), (Jude 1:14-15), (Psalm 68:16-17)

(Zephaniah 1:14-18) “14 The great day of the Lord is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out.
15 That day is a day of wrath, A day of trouble and distress, A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness,
16 A day of trumpet and alarm Against the fortified cities And against the high towers.
17 “I will bring distress upon men, And they shall walk like blind men, Because they have sinned against the Lord; Their blood shall be poured out like dust, And their flesh like refuse.”
18 Neither their silver nor their gold Shall be able to deliver them In the day of the Lord’s wrath; But the whole land shall be devoured By the fire of His jealousy, For He will make speedy riddance Of all those who dwell in the land.”

(Matthew 24:21-22) “21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”

(Matthew 13:30) “30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’””

(Revelation 7:14) “14 And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

(Isaiah 35:4) “4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.””

(Ezekiel 34:11-12) God, the True Shepherd
“11 ‘For thus says the Lord God: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day.”

(Mount Sinai: relationship with Moses and Jerusalem)

(Galatians 4:24-26) “24 which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar— 25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children— 26 but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all.”

(James 2:19) “19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!”

(Isaiah 24:21-22) “21 It shall come to pass in that day That the Lord will punish on high the host of exalted ones, And on the earth the kings of the earth.
22 They will be gathered together, As prisoners are gathered in the pit, And will be shut up in the prison; After many days they will be punished.”

(Jeremiah 4:24) “24 I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled, And all the hills moved back and forth.”

(Micah 1:4) “4 The mountains will melt under Him, And the valleys will split Like wax before the fire, Like waters poured down a steep place.”

(Zephaniah 1:2-3, 6,18) The Great Day of the Lord
“2 “I will utterly consume everything From the face of the land,” Says the Lord;
3 “I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, The fish of the sea, And the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land,” Says the Lord.
6 Those who have turned back from following the Lord, And have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him.”
18 Neither their silver nor their gold Shall be able to deliver them In the day of the Lord’s wrath; But the whole land shall be devoured By the fire of His jealousy, For He will make speedy riddance Of all those who dwell in the land.”

(Zephaniah 3:8) A Faithful Remnant
“8 “Therefore wait for Me,” says the Lord, “Until the day I rise up for plunder; My determination is to gather the nations To My assembly of kingdoms, To pour on them My indignation, All My fierce anger; All the earth shall be devoured With the fire of My jealousy.”

(2 Peter 3:7,10-12) “7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?”

(Isaiah 13:9) “9 Behold, the day of the Lord comes, Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, To lay the land desolate; And He will destroy its sinners from it.”

(Isaiah 24:1-23) Impending Judgment on the Earth
“24 Behold, the Lord makes the earth empty and makes it waste, Distorts its surface And scatters abroad its inhabitants.
2 And it shall be: As with the people, so with the priest; As with the servant, so with his master; As with the maid, so with her mistress; As with the buyer, so with the seller; As with the lender, so with the borrower; As with the creditor, so with the debtor.
3 The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered, For the Lord has spoken this word.
4 The earth mourns and fades away, The world languishes and fades away; The haughty people of the earth languish.
5 The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed the laws, Changed the ordinance, Broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, And those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, And few men are left.
7 The new wine fails, the vine languishes, All the merry-hearted sigh.
8 The mirth of the tambourine ceases, The noise of the jubilant ends, The joy of the harp ceases.
9 They shall not drink wine with a song; Strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.
10 The city of confusion is broken down; Every house is shut up, so that none may go in.
11 There is a cry for wine in the streets, All joy is darkened, The mirth of the land is gone.
12 In the city desolation is left, And the gate is stricken with destruction.
13 When it shall be thus in the midst of the land among the people, It shall be like the shaking of an olive tree, Like the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done.
14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing; For the majesty of the Lord They shall cry aloud from the sea.
15 Therefore glorify the Lord in the dawning light, The name of the Lord God of Israel in the coastlands of the sea.
16 From the ends of the earth we have heard songs: “Glory to the righteous!” But I said, “I am ruined, ruined! Woe to me! The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously, Indeed, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.”
17 Fear and the pit and the snare Are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.
18 And it shall be That he who flees from the noise of the fear Shall fall into the pit, And he who comes up from the midst of the pit Shall be caught in the snare; For the windows from on high are open, And the foundations of the earth are shaken.
19 The earth is violently broken, The earth is split open, The earth is shaken exceedingly.
20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, And shall totter like a hut; Its transgression shall be heavy upon it, And it will fall, and not rise again.
21 It shall come to pass in that day That the Lord will punish on high the host of exalted ones, And on the earth the kings of the earth.
22 They will be gathered together, As prisoners are gathered in the pit, And will be shut up in the prison; After many days they will be punished.
23 Then the moon will be disgraced And the sun ashamed; For the Lord of hosts will reign On Mount Zion and in Jerusalem And before His elders, gloriously.”

(Isaiah 28:22) “22 Now therefore, do not be mockers, Lest your bonds be made strong; For I have heard from the Lord God of hosts, A destruction determined even upon the whole earth.”

– But with the righteous He will make peace.

(Psalm 29:11) “11 The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.”

(Romans 15:13) “13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

(Isaiah 26:3, 12) “3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
12 Lord, You will establish peace for us, For You have also done all our works in us.”

(Ezekiel 34:25) “25 “I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.”

– And will protect the elect, And mercy shall be upon them.

(Isaiah 41:10) “10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’”

(Isaiah 41:13) “13 For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’”

(Psalm 121:5) “5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand.”

(John 14:18) “18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”

(Matthew 28:20) “20 […] and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”

– And they shall all belong to God,

(Malachi 3:17) “17 “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.””

(Micah 4:5) “5 For all people walk each in the name of his god, But we will walk in the name of the Lord our God Forever and ever.”

(Isaiah 44:5) “5 One will say, ‘I am the Lord’s’; Another will call himself by the name of Jacob; Another will write with his hand, ‘The Lord’s,’ And name himself by the name of Israel.”

– And they shall be prospered, And they shall all be blessed. And He will help them all,

(2 Chronicles 9:7) “7 Happy are your men and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom!”

(Psalm 115:15) “15 May you be blessed by the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.”

(Matthew 25:34) “34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:”

– And light shall appear unto them,

(1 John 1:5) Fellowship with Him and One Another
“5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.”

(Revelation 21:23) “23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.”

(Jude 1:14-15) “14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,15 to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.””

(Psalm 68:16-17) “16 Why do you fume with envy, you mountains of many peaks? This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in; Yes, the Lord will dwell in it forever.
17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, Even thousands of thousands; The Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the Holy Place.”
